The First rule of “Holes

First Rule of “Holes

👉 When you’re in one, stop digging.

That means:

  • Stop chasing losses. Don’t keep calling down when you know you’re beat.
  • Don’t double down on tilt. If you’re frustrated, bleeding chips, or playing hands you shouldn’t double down, the hole just gets deeper.
  • Recognize sunk costs. Just because you’ve already invested pre-flop or on earlier streets doesn’t mean you’re “pot-committed.” Fold when you’re beat.
  • Preserve your stack. The chips you save today give you ammo for better spots tomorrow.

Easier said than done, for sure.
